The exhibition is based on family memories related to the First World War, which have been instrumental in shaping the artist’s emotional and creative life. Born nearly a half a century after the start of the war, the artist demonstrates the convergence of contrasting worlds: the distant past and the personal present. The works combine a number of techniques in which the use of materials and colors evokes the dialogue between a personal history and the history of the twentieth century. While maintaining a harmonious unity, the tension between these two worlds is elicited by the image of the past staring through family portraits, with the present represented by children's drawings.
